Recently, we have been asked how federal developments and concerns about DEI have or will impact OIG. The short answer is: they don’t.
OIG and the fields of workplace and school investigations do not swing with political, societal, or cultural pendulums. Our investigative process and principles have been the same since the inception of the Law Offices of Amy Oppenheimer in 1992. They did not change during the racial reckoning of 2020. They will not change now in the face of headwinds demonizing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
The law continues to require employers and institutions to take steps to prevent and respond to all forms of workplace harassment and discrimination, which includes investigating complaints of harassment, discrimination, sexual and workplace violence, and other misconduct.
OIG’s mission continues to be promoting safe, inclusive, and harassment-free workplaces and schools for everyone. We do this by conducting high-quality, unbiased, conscientious investigations that support and further our civil rights laws. Our attorneys allow people of all backgrounds, and often with differing perspectives on an issue or conflict, to be heard. We gather relevant facts and make reasoned findings based on those facts.
At OIG, our commitment to providing insight, integrity, and impartiality in our investigations and neutral services remains unwavering. We stay the course.
