When conducting a workplace investigation, it’s important to think about all potential uses regarding the findings. Perhaps the investigation will simply lead to a formal employee reprimand or internal department training. In other cases, the claim may lead to litigation. When that’s the case, it’s critical that the underlying investigation is conducted and documented in a way that will stand up to the scrutiny of those proceedings.
OIG attorney investigator Jack Morse will present “The Good, the Bad, and the Mediocre: Conducting Investigations that Pass Muster in Related Litigation and Arbitration” during the County Counsels’ Association of California 2025 Spring Employment Law Study Section Conference.
The conference, which will take place in San Diego April 3-4, 2025, will also include sessions covering recent developments in PERB, religious accommodation vaccine cases, employee performance and discipline, public pension matters and other 2025 employment law updates relevant to county counsel in California.
