Lauren is an attorney investigator whose career has been shaped by work in public service, education, litigation, and civil rights enforcement. She brings extensive experience conducting complex investigations and evaluating sensitive allegations, along with a deep appreciation for the real-world impact that institutional decisions can have on individuals and communities. She is committed to conducting fair, thorough, and impartial investigations that help organizations address complex workplace and institutional concerns with integrity and care.
Prior to joining Oppenheimer Investigations Group, Lauren served as an attorney with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights, where she investigated complaints involving discrimination and equal access in educational settings. In that role, she conducted witness interviews, reviewed extensive documentary evidence, assessed credibility, analyzed legal and factual issues, and developed findings in matters involving complex and often highly sensitive circumstances.
Lauren’s approach to investigations is grounded in objectivity, careful fact-finding, and intellectual rigor. She is committed to following the evidence wherever it leads and believes that effective investigations require both analytical precision and the ability to evaluate competing accounts fairly and independently. Her experience conducting investigations involving diverse stakeholders has enabled her to navigate difficult issues while maintaining a reputation for professionalism, sound judgment, and neutrality.
Throughout her legal career, Lauren has worked on matters affecting children, older adults, individuals with disabilities, racial, ethnic, and gender minorities, and others navigating complex systems and institutions. Her work has included litigation, investigations, administrative proceedings, and counseling, giving her a broad perspective on how organizations address conflict, accountability, and compliance.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Lauren worked as a high school English teacher in New Jersey. Her experience in education continues to inform her understanding of institutional culture, communication, and conflict resolution, particularly in matters involving schools and educational environments.
In addition to her investigative practice, Lauren has served in leadership and mentoring roles, supporting the development of junior attorneys and contributing to professional organizations dedicated to public service and attorney well-being. She has built her career on the pursuit of equity, accountability, and principled decision-making, and she brings those values to every investigation she conducts.
Lauren combines the skills of an investigator, compliance counsel, and compassionate educator to produce thorough, well-reasoned findings that help organizations address challenging issues with confidence and integrity.
Outside of work, Lauren enjoys gardening, reading fiction, baking, crafting, and painting.
