Morgen
Hopson

Attorney

Morgen began her legal career at OIG as a law student intern, where she assisted in dozens of investigations. Her interest in neutral fact-finding and Title IX has only deepened since, grounding her commitment to impartiality and early dispute resolution.

Experience

At OIG, Morgen focuses on conducting thorough, impartial investigations for employers and educational institutions. She investigates allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and abusive conduct.

Before joining the firm as an attorney investigator, Morgen worked in employment defense and civil litigation in Santa Barbara, representing a wide range of employers and private businesses.

Prior to law school, Morgen was an English teacher in rural Thailand, an experience that gave her a firsthand understanding of the cultural and socio-economic dynamics that shape schools and workplaces. In law school, she served as Senior Online Editor of the UC Davis Law Review, Co-Chair of If/When/How: Lawyers for Reproductive Justice, and External Competition Chair of the King Hall Negotiation Team. In her final year, she was admitted to the Order of Barristers for excellence in oral advocacy.

Outside of the Office

In her free time, Morgen enjoys trying new restaurants, running along the beach, and playing in her local adult co-ed kickball league.
