Oppenheimer Investigations Group (OIG) announces that Managing Partner Vida Thomas has been selected for inclusion on the Northern California Super Lawyers 2024 list, and Attorney Gorev Ahuja has been named to the Rising Stars list. This is the second consecutive year they have each been named.
Northern California Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters rating service and publication, selects outstanding attorneys from more than 70 practice areas through a rigorous, multifaceted nomination process that encompasses a statewide survey of lawyers, detailed peer review and extensive research of each candidate. The objective of the selection process is to create a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of outstanding attorneys that may be used as a resource to assist in the search for legal counsel. Only five percent of the Northern California Bar received the distinction.
Vida’s practice leverages more than three decades of employment law experience, and she is sought out by entities across the state to address, uncover and correct root causes of workplace conflict. Vida has conducted hundreds of workplace investigations and has served as an expert witness in numerous state and federal employment lawsuits. In addition to conducting thorough and fair impartial investigations, Vida is frequently called upon to educate a wide range of audiences on important DEI-related issues, including unconscious bias, microaggressions and managing multigenerational workforces. As managing partner, Vida also focuses on building out the firm’s Title IX investigations and hearing officer work, training, mediation and coaching services.
The Northern California Super Lawyers “Rising Stars” list recognizes attorneys who are 40 years old or younger or who have been practicing law for 10 years or fewer. Approximately two percent of the Northern California Bar received the distinction.
Gorev investigates complaints of alleged harassment, including sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation, bullying, fraud, and other misconduct for public, private, and nonprofit sector employers. He is also familiar with investigations in educational settings, including complaints filed under the Uniform Complaint Procedures, having worked on matters involving schools and representing school districts in special education proceedings, mediations, and due process hearings.
