Cindy has an innate curiosity and enjoys constantly learning. She is drawn to investigations because she values integrity, impartiality, and fact-finding.
Before joining OIG, Cindy spent several years working on the COVID-19 pandemic response in Santa Clara County, by doing case investigations and leading a team of case investigators. She appreciates the importance of investigations and has extensive writing experience. She previously taught classes at the University of California, Santa Cruz and the University of Virginia.
Cindy enjoys spending time outdoors, especially hiking and nature photography. She has hiked in 27 national parks, including all nine national parks in California. Her photography has won awards and appeared in prints, calendars, and magazines. She also enjoys cross-country skiing, playing pickleball, and traveling.
